So Tough and Durable it's AnnoyingIf you buy the Casio G-Shock DW5600, plan on having it a long time. I bought mine back in 96 when they were redesigned. It is still on my wrist everyday. I literally never take it off. I really can't believe how tough this watch is. It has been beaten on for 15 years and the only thing I have to show for the abuse this thing has sustained is some fading due to spilling paint thinner on it about ten years ago. I use the alarm almost everyday, and the luminous back-light several times a day. It handles Minnesota winters with subzero temps like it's the middle of summer. There is literally nothing this thing can't handle.
The manual says expect to get 2 years out of the battery. No lie, I've had it for almost 16 years on the original battery. I'm pretty frugal so I won't buy another watch until this one takes a dump. I want a new watch but this thing won't die. I don't think there is a reasonably priced watch out there that compares to the toughness this one has. The only downside is, the adjust button is difficult to push.
The DW5600E is the Best Watch Ever Made!I have a G-shock watch since I was 18 years old. The model is DW5600E. I have to admit that this was a very good watch indeed before it gave up recently. This was my only watch and I've been wearing it in any activities I do (swimming, snorkeling in salt water, mountain biking, 4x4, workout etc). Trust me, this little size watch is able to handle all the punishing environments and activities. I am glad to have a G-shock and now I'm wearing a newly bought DW5600E and G-9000 Mudman. Thanks Casio for developing the most durable watch on the planet! Even my dad has replaced his Rolex with a G-shock (DW6900) for everyday use.
