Golf Disc Review: Black Jax Quest Light Up Golf Disc by Black Jax Sportscategories: Sports & Outdoors, Leisure Sports & Games, Disc Sports, disc golf
Not the Biggest FanI bought two and have several disappointments. I think every disc golfer goes through the process of determining the right disc for their release, via speed, glide, etc. Both discs just turn over way, way to quick. Not a great flyer so in the end when trying to actually play disc golf after dark if you can't throw the disc they way you want it to go... uugh, so frustrating! Secondly, way to frigging bright, almost novelty-toy like. I mean come on, it totally affects your night vision as you're trying to move around in the dark. Lastly and what in the end turned out to be a gift; after throwing a round (previously mentioned the turn-over), the disc tends to blade into the ground. Well this impacted dirt and mud into the LED sockets, which dimmed the brightness...
I'm not convinced yet that a solution works for night golf. I really like the micro fishing lure lights for the last 8 years. I have tried the Flashflight Hole-In-One and it seems to work well. I like that I can put the light module on the disc I choose. It took a bit to get used to hammering a hole in my discs but... in the end it works really well and doesn't hinder the flight all that much which I was surprised about. The good news is I have new discs as I retired a few older discs for the hole punching ceremony. More disc golf, night or day.
