Impressed So FarI purchased my CR600 from a pawn shop only because the Toshiba given to me as a gift had to be returned. I wouldn't buy a used PC from a pawn shop but I had no choice in the matter. The Toshiba was buggy as hell and the gift-giver went with me to exchange it. The MSI was ~$50 less and appeared to have similar specs. Oh contrare! The nVidia video card takes it to a whole other level; gaming is smooth with all options running, never hesitates. The sound is above par, DVD play is faultless and it runs cool without a stand. Space for a numeric keyboard is created by shortening the space-bar, Enter key etc... just plain smart in my opinion. USB ports are in the rear, which I like. The DVD/CD is amazingly quiet. And the display is unbelievably sharp. Mine has Win 7 and I simply love it so far.
The Hard Drive CrashedNice laptop, but I hardly got to know it before the hard drive crashed. I heard 3 bad "thunk" noises on boot-up, then nothing. For warranty, you must call a California 626 number, which is open only 5 days/week 9Am-9PM. You 1st must register the product on their website, which they don't make easy to find--a link on the list of links at bottom of page in tiny print. Nothing in the literature that came with it says this, or points you to the registration website.
Alternative warranty communication is via an email on their website, which includes a loooonnnngggg drop list of problems you MUST choose from. After sending, a reply says they will contact you "after a reasonable time". Whose definition of "reasonable". Certainly not a Dell or HP service-oriented company.
