Three hundred years ago Faerie was gated away. The selkies, like all Fae, were locked away to protect mankind.
Twenty years ago the Gateway failed and one selkie slipped through. She fell in love with a mortal named Ethan Tanner.
Meg Tanner is their daughter. She knows nothing of Faerie or selkies. All she knows is that her parents are dead and she is alone.
In Newfoundland, Meg is taken under the wing of the last Guardian of the Gateway, a man embittered by his life and the loss of his father as a child. The pair fight their growing attraction for each other. Meanwhile Meg begins to dream of Faerie, a haunting Fae man named Omyn, and her mother... who is very much alive.
A love story for young adult readers and anyone who has ever felt alone and Adrift in life.
I was inspired to write this book by the notion that, as a dark-haired person of Irish descent, I may be selkie stock. It certainly would explain an obsession with the ocean.
