Julian T. Nicholsabout this book: Joy: A Treasure Protector Story is the first of nine tween books that I plan to release over 2013. It is based on Anna, inspired by my quirky nieces, who has these amazing dreams in which she learns life lessons. The series actually is a spin off of an young adult novel I am planning to write; however I became fascinated with Anna's childhood. In each book she travels to a different continent in a parallel world where she meets the ones trusted to protect their world's most precious treasures.
I got the idea for the young adult novel because I wanted to celebrate the natural, wonderful gifts that we have inside of us- no special powers or mutant abilities (even thought that stuff is still pretty cool). I wanted to stress that Anna is special because of what she has inside of her. Our ability to be kind, good, joyful, loving, patient, peaceful etc. is what makes us worthy of living life to the fullest. The series chronicles Anna's journey through her dreams and introduces the reader to each prince and princess duo who are charged with protecting the treasure in their world.
