Janie De Costerabout this book: I wrote this book to shine a light on narcissism and the effects it has not only the person with the mental condition but the people surrounding them. The main character in my novel Playing The Game of Love is a narcissist. Donovan Lattimore was a handsome, intelligent and charismatic guy in high school. Being the captain of the football team the girls loved him and the guys envied him. But with those good qualities, Donavan had a dark side he flashed when his inflated sense of importance wasn't acknowledged. He was obsessed with intimidation and control and the behavior followed him into his adult life as well. Donavan got his way no matter who he had to steamrolled to get it. Women who fell in love with him were just objects to be played with and tossed aside. Except for the one he married, his wife Charlene who stood up to his obnoxious ways. Although his lifestyle brought him to power, fortune and fame it also leads him on a dangerous path, not only for him but for his one and only best friend Winston Taylor. A man who was accustomed to putting out the burning fires that Donovan set along the way. But Donovan finally crosses a line that will cause Winston to make a dramatic decision and it will change both of their lives forever.
