Ann Crawfordabout this book: Quirky and funny don't usually go with the subject of grief and suicide, but in this story they do. Trish, a 40-year-old actor in LA, loses her best friend to suicide. As she traverses the trenches of grief, Trish keeps her sense of humor as she shares her insights on what it's like to survive in one of the toughest industries and toughest towns to succeed in. Sparkling, witty, playful, offbeat, and ever-optimistic—that's Trish and that's her tale.
I worked in talent management for a bit, and one of my actors committed suicide. About a year later, I decided that she deserved to be the shero of her journey, no matter how it ended. Trish conveys this message as she travels her road to healing and her own version of success.
Of course, since love is my favorite thing to write about, that's here...in between the crazy characters and wacky situations. One of the things I learned the most, probably, as I wrote this book is how much we tend to get in our own way. Some of the people who will love this book are those who have been following a dream for a long time. While it's categorized as women's fiction, men have definitely loved it, too.
"I'm not usually into chick flicks," one said, "but this really kept my interest. It's great!"
