Nancy Ann DeRosaabout this book: The Food For Thought Series is about the "slices of life" we have all experienced at one time or another. This food-centric series invites you to the table along with Emma Craven and her four best friends as they "sample" delicious food and attempt to navigate through their lives and stay the right course. Food For Thought; Second Course is a story about love, friendship, and family and how we all attempt to progress in our relationships and career. Emma has to learn how to have a strong voice and speak up for what she wants even if she risks losing everything. Emma knows how important it is not to lose herself. Emma finally realizes she has to stand up for herself when she is faced with cold in-laws and a career that is thrown into her lap because her man needs her to manage his new restaurant. My characters aren't perfect, they are real and make mistakes but it's how they work through their struggles is what I write about in a funny and realistic series that is very relatable. The secondary characters are well developed and I show how friendships ebb and flow but also how, ultimately, Emma and her friends are there for one another. I lay bare their struggles and insecurities with family, career, and love. The main character EMMA CRAVEN falls in love with a chef and what she learns is finding the right man to share her life with doesn't ensure she will live happily every after. Emma Craven is forced to struggle and grow as she faces one complication after another. She feels her life is unraveling and she is helpless to stop it until she realizes she has to take control. Delicious meals become part of the story line as the characters sample many wonderful meals in the food establishments they frequent. I also take you into The Green Spruce Grill as Emma and Gary Parker open up their new restaurant and I describe all the meals they enjoy.
