Book: Papa Norm's Common Sense Book of Wisdom by Norman Yerkecategories: Book, Spiritual, Business Advice, Life Experiences Advice, Common Sense, Suffering, Wisdom
Norman Yerkeabout this book: Good morning everyone, as we head into the New Year, I thought this quote was appropriate for all of us to think about: "The world's happiness is a poor and transitory thing. The Christian's happiness is profound and can exist in the midst of difficulties. It is compatible with pain, with illness, with failures and contradictions. Our Lord has promised: Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. Unless we separate ourselves from its source, nothing and nobody can take away this joyful peace." From Conversations with God, by Francis Fernandez.
In other words all of our struggling so hard to acquire wealth, property, to be somebody, big houses, etc ("world's happiness"), is not where we look for this happiness; we can only find true happiness and joy in knowing, loving and serving God.
I don't have any specific pointers for you today. But did want to let you know about my new book. Many of you have been on my mailing list for "Papa Norm's Common Sense Book of Wisdom" for the past three + years. I am hopeful that you and those to whom you forwarded the "pointers" to benefited from the suggestions that I had. My original purpose in starting the pointers was to help my grandsons who were at the University of Dallas benefit from my many years of business, life and to learn from the spiritual journey that I have been on and continue to try to put into practice. With these thoughts in mind, I have published my book "Papa Norm's Common Sense Book of Wisdom" on www.amazon.com.

Over the years, quite a few of you have written that some of the pointers were very helpful in one way or the other. You can now have over 300 pointers to review from time to time at your leisure. It has been suggested to me that this book would be very helpful to high school and college age students as they prepare to enter society when they graduate. So parents, here is a good chance to give your children, grandchildren, friends a book that can be helpful when sending these people out into the world that needs a lot of help! To often children are entering the real world so unprepared that they will be a detriment to society and themselves.
I hope you have a very Blessed Christmas and that you find the joy and happiness in the New Year that I mentioned above. Take care, Norm
