Surely it should be time enough to change his view of her.
Joyce is hiding out as a helper for the wife of a local rancher. The man is abusive and threats his pregnant wife with disdain. Joyce must stay out of his way and out of sight until her father comes for her. A drunkard and gambler, the man is dangerous.
Hal wants to build up his nest egg before moving on to Denver. He's a professional gambler, but careful which games he enters. Until he finds the one poker game, he's been hoping to find. One big problem exists, the drunk rancher who thinks he knows what he's doing.
Four people meet in Dodge City and the second half of the journey begins, another trek up the Oregon Trail.
