Author Terry Eugene Listerabout this book: Immersed in West Africa is my story of an adventure into Africa solo moving slow for eight weeks. I am retired and having retired spent three years going to every country in Central and South America from November 2014 to Summer 2017. Having completed this part of the World, l decided Africa would be next. I had visited Africa previously going to four countries, and l knew that West Africa is the least developed part of the Continent so started here. The five countries visited have no more than six tourist sites that an experienced traveller would know about. For the occasional traveller a blank look might be the response when asked to name some such sites.

I wanted to experience and share. Several reviewers have mentioned travelling vicariously with me. This is the response l was seeking. When you read this book l want you to feel like l am sitting beside you squeezed into the minivan arguing over how long it will take us to cover the small distance that we are going.l have written the book in this intimate manner because l have two readers: the adventure some who wish to get out and go solo as l have done and secondly, those who are not going anywhere but would love to learn and feel these places.

I decided to name the book as l did because this is how l felt for the eight weeks. I was totally immersed in West Africa. I am pleased that the book has so many beautiful pictures, all of which l took with my cellphone!! And when deciding on the cover it had to be a waterfall. I am sure very few people knew that these beautiful waterfalls exist in the hills of Guinea but they do!

Come join me now for our journey through West Africa- buckle up!
