Lela Stankovicabout this book: Painting Glorious Rose Flowers in Watercolor – in 7 Stages" is about painting techniques for watercolor artists.
I this book I take you step by step through my process of creating a glorious rose watercolor from start to finish.
My inspiration for writing this book was to create an easy, step-by-step guide for watercolor artists to help them observe, analyze and truly "see" their painting subjects. This skill becomes an invaluable tool in true-to-life painting and in understanding why you are doing what you are doing. Though the book is about creating a rose flower, the knowledge you acquire here will serve you well in painting any subject you wish to paint. My goal in writing this book is to empower development of your own painting style, and bring your art closer to the professional level.
I have been painting in watercolor for more than 10 years now and this book contains the knowledge I have gained over these years. It took me a bit more than 1 year to write this book. I have been humbled by some of the nice feedback from readers on Amazon and on my website. Here's an extract from a review from Amazon: "Lela's art is beautifully realistic and yet so expressive. I found the book so inspiring and easy to follow that my confidence has now improved greatly."
The hardest part of writing my book was to make it short, and yet include a complete guide to creating a painting. This book includes information about colors and painting supplies you need, drawings you can download to print as well as other steps like how to stretch your paper.
Painting brings a lot of happiness to life and I believe that continuously striving for new shores in the art journey is part of the joy and excitement. I would like to wish you much success in this journey.
