Suz deMelloabout this book: Temptation in Tartan is vampire historical erotic romance. I wrote it after I had sold a short story dealing with the same vampire clan in the present day. Because "Highland Vampire" had done well, I wanted to build on that success. I couldn't see writing a sequel, so I wrote a prequel set in the eighteenth-century, after the defeat of the Highlanders at Culloden Moor had torn Scotland apart, bringing down on the clans a vicious retribution by the English.
In TT, Kieran Kilborn, the new laird of his remote clan, weds an English noblewoman, Lydia Swann Williston. He hopes that her wealth and connections with English gentry will spare his clan from the "pacification." Widowed Lydia wants children and has already rejected all other suitors.
Despite their immediate attraction and bonding, Kieran doesn't tell Lydia of the more mysterious, dangerous members of the clan. She is left to guess and flounder in the many mysteries held by Kilborn Castle, which is beset by enemies from within and without.
I loved writing this book and its sequel, Desire in Tartan, which will be published by Ellora's Cave later this year. I enjoy history and researching this book and the sequel were a kick! I just hope that readers enjoy it as much as I did!
