about this book: My mother is 90, lives about 12 miles from a nuclear power plant that was constructed on an earthquake fault that is next to an area known it's wild fires and landslides.

My mother is a Saint and Saint Claire was my inspiration to get busy and get prepared to survive the unthinkable. But it's just not an earthquake or wildfire that was freaking me out, it is the terrorist with the dirty bomb, the world financial markets tanking, the water supply being poisoned and dozens of other unexpected calamities waiting to attack my Mom.

And let's be honest, we now live in a country where the enemies within (with rare exceptions) are the ruling class and sympathetic mass media that just don't care. They are too spineless, aloof or asleep to even acknowledge that problems exists. There only concern is how to get deeper into our check books.

Urban Preppers with Kids, Pets & Parents was the result of an obsessive search for information for people in my situation.. I am not a Bear Grylls survivalist, just a regular shlub with a bad knee, a couple of dogs and Saint Claire. And when the crisis strikes, we want to survive too, or at least increase our odds.
