Joanne Brothwellabout this book: Did you know all humans are direct descendents from an original woman, the "Mitochondrial Eve"? Adriana Sinclair is a living relic of this first woman, her blood type unidentifiable to scientists, her DNA a genetic throwback to a primitive, highly powerful mitochondria. So, what does this mean for Adriana?
The Eve Genome story came to me following an article I read that described the "Mitochondrial Eve". It fascinated me, the thought of an original woman, one that the entire human race evolved from. The story unfolded in my mind over time, and took about three years to write and perfect.
Researching The Eve Genome was hard work. I have no background in science, so a lot of the concepts were difficult to grasp. But then I realized, the descriptions of the science shouldn't read like a textbook anyway! So I relaxed, and focused on having the science make sense to the average reader, like me.
The Eve Genome is a young adult book, geared toward teens who enjoy reading about older teenagers who are transitioning into adulthood. It has the perfect mix of science, fantasy and romance - a little something for everyone!
