Book Review: Looking Good by Ellie Claytoncategories: Books, Parenting & Families, Family Relationships, Dysfunctional Relationships, tragic life experiences

PatheticWoe is me ...I am the victim. Everything is a superlative (overuse of heinous, hateful and every negative word one finds in a thesaurus). If this woman were a strong as she states, she should have left the marriage a long time before she did. The book is pathetic. It is full of contradictions and overuse of describing any single situation over 10 times (in one case) with thesaurus-picked words.
There are no lessons taught nor any any positive words of wisdom for anyone seeking help in similar situation; but rather the tone is vengeful. There are no positive recommendations (for seeking counseling, support groups, getting legal advice)....it just dwells over and over on how this strong and smart woman "was duped" (and the passive tense is used so much one wonders is she did anything on her own or was everything done to her).
