John Robert McCauleyabout this book: This chilling thriller chronicled the story of a cattle drive in 1976 in northeastern Colorado. The story followed a cattle herd that traveled from the high summer pastures in the mountains to the lower range near the ranch. During the cattle drive, a severe storm slammed the range quickly drenching the parched earth, washing thin mountain soil down gullies and unleashing rocks and boulders down the sides of the canyons. The force of nature was awesome. The Big Thompson River swelled quickly growing bigger and bigger. It continued to rain and rain and the tide kept rising. Trevor's whole world was turned upside down by this storm hell-bent on destruction. His need to survive saw him battle against the fury of nature. Come ride the range with Trevor and his family through this Sandy-like storm in the Rockies. See why many people could never erase the memories of this calamity.
This Author saw the news coverage of the Colorado flood in September 2013. This coverage of the destruction reminded me of the gospel story of where the body lies the vultures shall gather. The combination of the news and the gospel gave me the idea for this story of chilling encounters with demon-like forces.
