June Summersabout this book: I planned to name my book, Whatever It Takes, from the first paragraph that I wrote. Gabe Wakefield, a thief and a kidnapper, had a very serious dilemma he had to solve. He was conflicted with how he would accomplish that quandary. However, both he and I knew he would somehow find the answer, although when he was confronted with this dilemma, neither he nor I knew how it would be achieved.
There was research involved in the writing of this book. Although, no descriptive scenes involving child abuse are in the book, I had to determine the medical, physical, and psychological effects on a child who has been a victim. Then I had to find a way to present these in the story without implicating Gabe Wakefield. And as a result, I ended up with a better knowledge of the extent and consequence on the thousands of children who have been the victims.
And to my readers – thank you for choosing this book. The subject matter is serious, but it has a happily-ever-after ending.
