Kristi Saare Duarteabout this book: Have you ever wondered who Jesus really was? What if he wasn't the Son of God, but instead an ordinary man whose only desire was to spread a message of love?
One day, many years ago, I saw a book for sale on a street in Calcutta: "Jesus in India." Ever since, I couldn't get the thought out of my head: what if Jesus had travelled to India and studied Hinduism and Buddhism? What if all the world's religions have more in common than is usually thought? I had to explore this further, and this is where The Transmigrant stems from: universal spirituality.
Six years of thorough research later, I published The Transmigrant. The novel will appeal to those of you who are open-minded and spiritual, who like "feel good" books, and want to learn more about other cultures. Many readers have called my style of writing "brilliantly simple" and "effortless." Think Hemingway or Jack Kerouac: a travelogue about a somewhat arrogant young boy whose dream is to be a priest and a teacher, but he's constantly defeated by his own ego.
If you like spiritual, thought-provoking fiction, and can imagine Jesus as the Buddha reincarnated, then you will love this book.
