Christian Kalliasabout this book: The third book in the Universe in Flames follows protagonist Chase Athanatos into a very dark period. He is spiralling out of control, has lost all hopes for the future and he is consumed with pain, sorrow and hatred. He tries to deal with the pain in his heart by fighting in pits, but the physical pain isn't enough anymore, nor is the substance abuse. Nothing can take away the pain in his soul until he exerts his revenge. All he cares about now is to find his twin brother and make sure that next meeting will be their last. Chase teams with a sexy bounty hunter by the name of Keera and they go hunt down Argos together. Will he finally get his revenge? Is everything he held dear really gone? The twin brothers next showdown is truly epic and but also revealing, as nothing is as it seems...
While the second book in the series revolved around controlling oneself, learning to deal with the weight of responsibility and the fear of what could happen if rage takes over, this second book is more centered on revenge and the blind destructiveness that can come with it. How far would you go to avenge your loved ones? The fantasy and mythology elements are getting bigger in this third volume as well.
Destination Oblivion is addressed to people who like SciFi in general. My sources of inspiration are classics like Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Farscape, Stargate (SG-1 & SG-A but also the first movie), Aliens, Predator, Wing Commander but also anime influences like Dragon Ball Z and Saint Seiya. If you like any of these, I'm pretty sure you'll find something to like in my books.
As with my previous books I've created the cover for Destination Oblivion myself. I wanted something less busy than my previous two covers who focused on large scale space battles. While there are still space battles in book 3 it's not the focus of the books this time around. And I wanted to cover to convey a sense of dread, hence it's tone and dark atmosphere.
I'd like to thank my readers for reading my books and invite you to contact me in case you have any questions or simply want to share your thoughts with me. I really like interaction with my readers, so don't hesitate.
