Vera Jane Cookabout this book: Grace Place encounters mayhem, murder and deception at the Paradise Trailer Park in Hixson, Tennessee. Surrounded by a cast of characters as colorful as a field of wildflowers, she comes into her own, with a little plodding from her Mama and a whole lot of passion.
I used to be an actress and for some reason I played a lot of southern women, also read a lot of Tennessee Williams, I think that's where I got the inspiration to write Dancing Backward In Paradise. I enjoyed writing the book, every line of it and I was very happy with the reviews I received for the first edition. This ebook edition published by Musa Publishing has very little revisions. I was very happy to have it picked up and published traditionally. The book won an Eric Hoffer Award in 2007 for publishing excellence and an Indie Excellence Award for Notable New fiction.
A quote from my 5 Star Clarion Review:
Dancing Backward in Paradise by Vera Jane Cook is a charming rags-to-riches story with a heartwarming ending, memorable characters, and a riveting plot that will make the reader forget the outside world.
I think my readers will be those who have a sense of humor, like to laugh and relate to family bonds, magical attractions and eccentricity. I think it's a fun read, at times, sad, but true to itself.
