Bob Ecksteinabout this book: My book is a non-fictional account of one of man's oldest forms of folk-art, snowman-making. This is not a children's book but a serious yet humorous adult book which explores this frozen Forrest Gump whose fascinating history, at times, gets blue (such as when in the Middle Ages snowman-making was an early form of pornography and political commentary).
I spent seven years traveling around the world researching this book with the help of leading experts in the fields of art and cultural history. As a result I am now the world's only snowman expert (last year I spoke on the subject on over 60 TV and radio spots around the world). The book was illustrated mostly by myself (including the cover)...Amazon picked it Best Book of the Season (2007)...it includes an intermission of the world's best snowman cartoons...I have a personal snowman collection of over 800 snowman antiques and items.
I'm very proud of this book and hope readers get a chance to enjoy and see the snowman in a different way.
