Book: Overview of Siam Sterling Nielloware by Charles Dittellcategories: Book, Sterling, Nielloware, Siam, Thai, Vintage, Collectibles, Antiques, Jewelry, Silver
Charles Dittellabout this book: "Overview of Siam Sterling Nielloware" is a detailed information source on these fascinating silver items -- jewelry and related items (such as ash trays, picture frames, vases, cigarette boxes, and the like). I chose to write this book after discovering these items at flea markets and collectibles stores. No one seemed to know anything about them.
After 30 years of research, I wrote the book. I found only one patent related to these items (pictured in the book), and found much information on the illustrations that these items displayed (mostly from the Thai legend, Ramakien).
"Overview" is available on my web site, siamman.com, as well as on Ebay (starting at a discounted price). Ebay purchasers have unanimously provided positive feedback regarding the book, and those who have seen these items have found the information in "Overview" extremely interesting and useful. An up-to-date pricing matrix is included.
I've also had the book converted to an e-book, re-named "Survey of Siam Sterling Nielloware," but with only (!) 100 illustrations instead of "Overview's" 400.
I've kept the list price as low as possible, and the book is 8 1/2 by 11 inch pages, over 200 pages, over 400 illustrations, and "perfect bound."
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
