Blaine Colemanabout this book: This book is a gathering of short stories and poems that examine the length and breadth of life, the joys and grief, love and loss but also happiness, hope, and the enduring good that permeates all of our experiences. Three of the stories were previously published in a collection titled "The Adventures of Roland McCray" but the others were written specifically for this collection. Some of the poems are taken from journals I've kept over the years and some are new, but all are published here for the first time. Although the stories are fiction, several of them are loosely based on people I've known and events I've either experienced myself or that have been related to me by others. The names, of course, are entirely fictional and none of the stories are true in the sense of actual events in any specific person's life, but the emotions and events will resonate with things many people have experienced. There is sadness in this book, but also joy and an underlying sense of hope in the promise life holds for us all, the personal growth and Spiritual renewal that cushions the sometimes inexplicable pain of loss.
I chose "Falling Water" as the title both because of the first story, "The Waterfall" and, more importantly, because I think it relates to the ebb and flow of life and emotion I've attempted to put into this book.
Here are a few lines from one of my favorite reviews: "I'm actually reading this as slowly as I can because I don't want it to end! I feel as though each tale should be savored and thought about."
