Tammy Rugglesabout this book: The Shoplifter is a faith-based short story of a girl named Tanya who is at the precipice of adulthood--that age when choices can mean the difference between happiness and sadness, the right path or a wrong path. She isn't a Christian, but, like a lot of other young adults, knows she's been making bad choices and needs to change her life. But will she?
This story addresses her choices, her motivations, and the outcome.
Shoplifters steal for different reasons. Some for attention from peers. Some for the thrill. Some for the free merchandise. And some for lack of self-esteem and self-worth.
The problem is, it doesn't matter what the underlying reason is. Stealing is stealing. Some thieves learn their lesson, and some never do.
Don't worry if you think this story has a bad ending. It actually has a good ending with a positive outcome and lesson.
Some faith-based stories shy away from the truth, and reality, showing Christians as perfect people with no pasts, no mistakes, and no regrets. Being a Christian doesn't make one a super human, it just means that you have a God you can go to in time of need, mistakes, and confusion.
