Karlene Stewartabout this book: I was inspired to write a book that would help children's book writers self-publish their work, after I completed a training course on how to do so using PowerPoint. I was very intrigued by what I had learnt and considered that other authors were unaware of this information, so I wanted to share it. It had cost me over US$700 to produce my first children's picture book, which I had outsourced to a book designer. I intend to continue producing children's picture book, but now I have a smaller budget to work with. This book was partly a way for me to test out what I had learnt also. For example, I learnt that I could design an ebook cover using PowerPoint, so I designed the cover for this book in PowerPoint and was very pleased with the result. I know there are other authors out there who have a limited budget, but want to see their children's story become a published book. So, I knew writing a book that would explain a simple way to self-publish a children's picture book would prove valuable to others.
It took me only four weeks to complete writing and publishing the book. This is the quickest it has taken me to write and publish a book. But, it's only a small guide of 32 pages. Despite its brevity however, the information within is highly beneficial, and a couple of readers have already rated the book 5 stars. I expect the book will continue to inspire and benefit other authors.
