While there are many self-help books around, when I was struggling there didn't seem to be a single book that held 'the answer'. You don't need to be an entrepreneur or millionaire or corporate whiz kid to achieve success. The secret lies in deciding what success means for you.
Not so long ago I was a single mom pounding away on the 21st century treadmill to make ends meet. Working long hours as a management consultant, my little girl was usually the first to arrive at day-care and the last to leave. By the time she got to school, I was the mom on the sidelines of the Saturday soccer match with my mobile attached to my ear, taking an urgent call from a client while I missed her scoring a goal.
At the same time I noticed that no matter where I worked, people always seem to struggle with change. Whether it was for a multi-national corporate, a non-profit organisation or a public service department, change seemed to be hard. Strangely, we'd rather stay stuck with the 'devil we know' than overcome the fear of change to make life better. Worse still, big fat consulting documents don't make it any easier and good, smart people continue to struggle professionally and personally.
Fast forward 5 years and I've discovered what it takes to hop off the 'treadmill'! Financially and emotionally free, I get paid to do work I love and enjoy a flexible lifestyle that back then I could only dream about. My mission is to help others break free from whatever is holding them back to live the life they want.
When I was approached by John Wiley & Sons to write this book, I knew the time had come to share the powerful and proven techniques that provide the keys to fulfilment and wellbeing. Drawing on professional coaching techniques, lived experience and the insights of many clients, colleagues and friends, The Great Life Redesign cuts to the chase to help you change how you work, live how you dream and make it happen today.
It's easier than you may think... so what are you waiting for? You only have one life and you owe it to yourself to make it count.
