Kae Elle Wheelerabout this book: This book is part of a fun series the Oklahoma Romance Writers were invited to partake in through The Wild Rose Press. Tales of the Scrimshaw Doll.
Each book is stand alone and has some reference to the cursed doll. It also has to have a tie to Oklahoma.
The Color of Betrayal is Malia Kane's story. She is a starving artist with one last shot before forced to get a real job. She receives a note from Luke Risner demanding her presence at his office. She walks in and sees the doll that was gifted to her at her mother's death when she was sixteen. She would have preferred to never had seen her again. Every man she'd ever been involved with since the age of sixteen has ended up with a broken nose or worse. All five of them.
Luke has had the hots for Malia for over a year, but the girl will just not take the hint. He's tired of waiting.
When the doll disappears from Malia's apartment, Luke fears that one of the men from Malia's past is on the hunt.
