Book: Solace (Fae Warriors Book 1) by Gini Rifkincategories: Book, Fae Warriors, Romance, Adventure, Spicy, Reptile Invasion, Army Ranger, Scifi Fantasy
Gini Rifkinabout this book: I usually write historical romance, so when a contemporary scifi/fantasy burst upon me, clamoring to be written, it took me by surprise. Quite a departure, the experience was an exciting yet scary proposition. The story featured three sisters, triplets in fact, so a trilogy seemed the way to go. Again, committing time and inspiration to three books at once seemed a bit daunting. Inspired by one of the statues in my faerie collection, I imagined six foot tall warrior women, not sweet flower faeries, and the fun began.
Research figures greatly in the writing of each historical book, and surprisingly there was quite a bit needed for this modern day adventure too. From current weaponry to what they do at NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) to military lingo and the history of the Army Rangers, it was a blast—oh yeah, I had to learn about plastic explosives too. Quite an upgrade from black powder. 4.5 Stars Kam's Place
