about this book: After I completed Parker's Folly, the first book in what has become a trilogy, my friends asked me what happened to the crew of TK Parker's space ship, now renamed the Peggy Sue, after they returned to Earth. I thought about this for a while and soon began to write book two—Peggy Sue. As with its predecessor, this story follows the adventures of Captain Jack Sutton and the crew of the Peggy Sue as they attempt to solve the mystery of the ancient T'aafhal and their war with the Dark Lords. They face a multitude of enemies both in space and on Earth as they try to find allies among the stars.
After rescuing his crew from captivity by Earth authorities, Captain Jack heads out on a grand tour of the local stellar neighborhood. The stars they visit are all real, and are considered to be prime candidates to posses habitable planets. They do find inhabited planets, some friendly and others decidedly not. Exploration, adventure, battles on strange worlds and in space fill the second book of the T'aafhal saga. The climax of the book takes place in the Sirius system, where they find a derelict T'aafhal battle cruiser in a space ship graveyard. What transpires next sets the stage for the third book in the trilogy—M'tak Ka'fek (T'aafhal for "Righteous Vengeance").
As with my first book, I have tried to use "hard science" as much as possible, though I did have to figure out not one but two ways to circumvent Dr. Einstein's inconvenient cosmic speed limit. I also had to invent three very different alien races which are hopefully believable and not too similar to creatures found in other novels. Both my novels have found a much wider readership than I have ever imagined, evidently striking a cord with many readers. Go read the reviews on Amazon for a less biased view than my own. I hope that you will get as much enjoyment out of reading Peggy Sue as I did writing it
