about this book: Holding Sequence: Cycles of Fate is the first in a short Science Fiction series about the machinations of Destiny. It is the story of two people who find themselves caught in a web of lies, politics, and power-plays by people they thought were close to them. This first book takes them out of their semi-ordinary lives and drops them unceremoniously into a project that is nothing even remotely resembling what they were told it would be. It is a story of traps and turnabout, of wrongs done and poetic justice obtained.
I first wrote this story in high school (1988), and its first incarnation was a two-page short story I typed up on my father's old Underwood manual typewriter. I showed it to him, and he told me, "That's great. Now put some meat on it." That bit of encouragement led me to its second incarnation was a 39-page novella that I also wrote at that time, by hand. From encouragement by my high school friends (and later others), I completely restarted, and it is now the 76-page novella that you can find on Amazon.com. It was the first I published, and it was originally published on Lulu.com as a paperback a couple of years ago -- that version is still available as well.
