David John Priceabout this book: This book is a collection of seven science fiction stories I started writing it about 2018, with the intention to add to this over a period of time. I was held up with health problems but continued from February to June 2020 (during the virus lockdown when I added two more imaginative stories - being longer in length). The stories were loose ends that I wanted to put together into a collection. I have been an author since 1998 and concentrate on the Science Fiction and YA Fantasy genres and this is my 8th book published to date. The various storylines I have tackled in this volume include: teleportation, aliens that once lived on Mars and left an artifact that transports human colonists to an inhabited planet far away in another galaxy where the remainder of their race has almost died out, Star Cruisers that journey around far solar systems to keep themselves amused (much like ocean cruisers today), a Star Trooper space ship that crashes on an unknown planet during an interplanetary war, an aging man with health problems is transported to the future in a violent lightning storm where advanced surgeons perform surgery on him and return him to his own time cured, aliens searching for intelligent life come to Earth but are shocked by the mess we have made of our world and seek to help us, and finally, exploring deep ocean trenches where portals are discovered that transport submariners to other dimensions (the conclusion is bizarre). The hardest part of writing some of my stories is the research in making the technology sound feasible and creating out of this world scenarios and different plot lines. My last two stories took about 5 months to complete and I was aiming at entertaining my friend in producing an enjoyable book. What I learned writing this book was it was difficult to format the collection of stories. My book is aimed at science fiction readers. There are times when you have readers block. I think my readers will enjoy this book, as it is versatile and imaginative. Every book an author writes is a learning experience. My cover on this occasion was unfortunately limited having to use a cover creator.
