Mildred Clingermanabout this book: Long considered one of the preeminent female science fiction writers of the 50's, 60's and 70's, Mildred Clingerman is back with new unpublished stories - "The Clingerman Files". Her family discovered these unseen works recently as well as poetry and other writings. The new work contains most of her originally published stories; "The Day of the Green Velvet Cloak", "Stair Trick", "Wild Wood", "The Little Witch of Elm Street" and many other favorites. Also included are previously unpublished works; "Top Hand", "Tribal Customs", "The Birthday Party", "Fathers of Daughters" and many more soon to be favorites. The key to her stories is that they appear simple and straightforward, but each takes a twist or turn that, even when you're tempted to guess where they're heading, they take you there in a way you would never have bargained on. Beginning in the early 50's, Clingerman was most known for her association with Fantasy and Science Fiction Magazine. The first story to appear in the magazine "Minster Without Portfolio". In 2014 she was posthumously awarded the Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award. We welcome you to the world of Mildred Clingerman!
