Book: Red Dot - Contact. Will the gravest threat come from closer to home than we expect? by Eugene Linncategories: Book, First Contact, Political Thriller, NASA, White House, Extraterrestrial Life, Science Fiction
Eugene Linnabout this book: The approach of an alien spaceship guarantees a leap into the unknown with unimaginable stresses and fears. How will beings from another world treat us? Why are they coming? How will governments, churches, and individuals react?
How would you react?
Red Dot looks at first contact from the viewpoint of a wide variety of folks, including Claire, a single-mom and dedicated NASA scientist tasked with explaining the thousands of mysterious red dots sent to the surface of the Earth by ETs; U.S. President Douthart, who must try to lead America and the world through the unknown; and Scott, a chauffeur, and his wife Maggie, a warehouse clerk, raising two children in ominous times.
While I like rousing tales of war-of-the-worlds battles between humans and aliens as much as the next guy, I looked at First Contact as it might really happen. People with their complex motivations and relationships might be their own worst enemy. ETs possess advanced technology and civilization but in their daunting voyage may be also face difficult decisions.
