Jack Lourens

Author Jack Lourensabout this book: The Annunaki lie deep in the human psyche. They are the stuff of legends. Worshiped by the ancient Sumerians, their stories have passed through the annals of time. Their story lies in the Altra-Hasis, the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Bible. The book explains who they are, where they came from and why they are here. It tells of the future.

It is my first venture in Science-Fiction with, of course, a historical twist. Our story starts 14.2 million years ago when the Annunaki first visit our planet. They are explorers, and, in their way, adventurers. 10 short interlinked stories travel through time until the Annunaki return, as prophesied in 2022.

I found it an interesting book to write. My other novels are set in periods in history and tell a "what-if?" scenario. "What if Thomas Jefferson had feed the slaves?" (1809; The Year They Freed the Slaves) or "What if the United States had lost the 1812 war?" (The Georgia Secession). This book passes through events in time from Sumeria, to the China of the first Emperor Shihuangdi, to the Druids in Angelsea, to the United States, stopping at many other places en route.

The reviews to date are encouraging, although it appears readers time a little time to see how the stories interlink. If you decide to buy I feel sure you will enjoy it. Like all my books I like to aim for something different, a book that makes the reader think
