Author Maria Hammarbladabout this book: Embarkment 2577 is a collection of three novellas: Brand New World, High Gravity, and Adam and Eve. All three books focus on the same main characters, and are told from the heroine's point of view. She wakes up on a spaceship 600 years in the future, and can't remember a thing. That is, she knows who SHE is, but all details are gone.

She promptly decides she's hallucinating. This take on the situation helps a little, but why couldn't her mind dream up some people easier to handle than the cat-like doctor, the hologram of a rock star, and the oh so handsome android? Once she gets used to the new situation it isn't all that bad - until the ship is overrun by aliens and her adventure kicks off for real.

Science fiction author Robert Landry says, "The very endearing main character, Alex, is vulnerable, charming and most of all hilarious. Told in first person, you won't believe some of the things that go through this girl's head."
