Larry Andrews about this book: In Larry Andrews' debut novel you enter into a personal journey of two cosmonauts that have wanted nothing in life but a successful career in space. French Babette Bescond and Russian Misha Sokolov initially meet in Paris and next meet in space where they are trapped on the Russian Mir space station. One of the reasons that Larry wanted to write this book was initially the untapped issues of living long durations in space and the implications on future space travel - so the sci-fi aspect. Some activities forbidden, yes—but a man and woman none the less. As he developed the characters and a romantic at heart, Babette and Misha progress through encounters, personally and professionally beginning with their re-entry via the Shuttle to the US, which places them in a position of scientific intrigue, concurrent with the meeting of new friends and family, with adventures through the Russian countryside and St. Petersburg areas. It's a highly visual book and in this quick read, you will be at famous locations – hotels, palaces, and museums, listening and/or engaging in space presentations, walking along the Seine, watching ballet at the Bolshoi or Catherine's Theatre, travelling in Russia either being the driver of the motorcycle or the rider of the back, reflecting on the comfort of that warm bowl of Borscht, to a lavish affair at the Chinese embassy, or contemplating the aspects of space travel in the future. It is a remarkable sequence that blends fiction, romance and sci-fi, in which Larry has woven throughout some of his real life experiences, history and travel. He hopes you enjoy the read!
