Sandy Semeradabout this book: I got the idea for writing this book while driving to New Orleans to visit my in-laws. A man fell from the back of a flatbed trunk and tumbled down an embankment. My imagination went wild and the story began to unfold in my head. The book was originally called Mardi Gravestone, but it was republished and reedited as Sex, Love & Murder. It's set in New Orleans during the glory, pre-Katrina days during Mardi Gras week.
Here's a brief synopsis: Driving to New Orleans, Lilah, a journalist and young widow, confronts the unthinkable when a man falls in front of her van. The man's suitcase and its contents make her a target in a murder plot. She is unaware of the danger she faces as she follows the advice from a graveyard psychic. The psychic gives her a crystal necklace and tells her to find a secret diary. In searching for the diary, Lilah becomes intimate with a handsome musician and dangerously close to murders involving the White House.
