Judy Ann Davisabout this book: KEY TO LOVE is about family relationships and old friendships. In the novel, the nephew of the hero, Lucas Fisher, has lost his father, a state policeman, in an questionable accident. Todd, the little boy, who Lucas wants to adopt, sorts his animal crackers into groups. I got the idea of an animal-cracker-eating child from watching another real child who believes not all the animals in his cracker box were friendly so he separated them in like piles to keep the peace. How adorable is that?
Writing, KEY TO LOVE, took less than a year because the words and mystery seemed to flow from the page. I love humor and the humorous snarky dialogue between the two brothers and their sister, Elise Springer, seemed to come naturally.
This is a sweet romantic suspense, set outside Scranton, Pennsylvania, on a farm. I grew up on a dairy farm outside Scranton, so I was familiar with the area, the roads, and layout.
My novel is for those who like a good mystery with charming child and a happily ever after ending. And the ending is endearing, my readers tell me.
