Kasey Rileyabout this book: I wrote this book with many different life experiences in mind, mostly light hearted, but some serious. A friend who used to drive the Canyonlands of California pulling livestock out ahead of the fire was inspirational for that action in this book. A friend who lost his pants one night out drinking...you see, we all have stories of friends and our own that would make a great tale if put together and that's what I did. Add a rescued dog and you have August Fire.
Stephanie meets Doyle when his dog gooses her...and the jerk LAUGHS. Not having the best of days and needing his help, she refrains from slapping that grin off his face.
Doyle, while happy to stop and help a stranded motorist, especially one with those legs, has second thoughts when he realizes she hasn't much of a sense of humor. But, being a gentleman, he gets her on the road again. Besides he likes feisty women.
Fate wasn't done with them, not by a long shot. Follow the couple as they come to grips with a budding friendship, possibly more, and then are thrown together as they fight to keep ahead of an arsonist bent on their destruction.
Set in Colorado where the country tends to be dry and fires burn hot, this love story becomes a tale of suspense as they escape the arsonist again and again, all the while growing closer and closer to each other. Will the romance lead to a wedding, or a fond farewell?
The Royalties from this book have been assigned to "The Dollywood Foundation - My People Fund" to aid the victims of the 2016 Gatlinburg, TN Fires. Any purchase or read on Kindle Unlimited will aid the Fund.
