Aimee Martinabout this book: Melanie Moore... independent, self-serving, atheist, rape victim.
Alex Lambert... Christian, retired Navy, determined, loving.
What could they possibly have in common? Chemistry. The kind of chemistry that pulls two people together like magnets, no matter how much they try to fight it. And a devotion from one man so strong, he will stop at nothing to get his woman to see how redeemable she is.
Hi all! Aimee the author here. This book, Forever Grateful, is the second novel in a four part series of stand alones called the Lake Shores Series. My writing style is Christian based but what sets it apart from so many other authors in this genre is that I write real characters. You see, in real life, people are not robots who do right all the time. We sin, slip up and fall. But we get back up, dust ourselves off, ask for forgiveness and move on. That's what life is all about. That's what my books are about.
This one, Forever Grateful, was especially emotional to write because I had to delve deep into my mind to make the scenes realistic. You have a young woman who gets raped, becomes pregnant and decides to have an abortion. This happens every day. So why shouldn't more awareness be brought to it? People need to see that just because you make a mistake, you sin, it doesn't mean that you cannot be loved and forgiven. And with the love of Him and our soul mate, we can make it through anything that life throws at us.
The point of this book, is that we are all sinners in the eyes of Christ. But as Christians, we strive to be better. To do better. Which is what these characters do. They're not perfect nor do they lead perfect lives. (Anyone that says he/she does is lying.) These are REAL people with REAL problems who fight in REAL life to be better in the eyes of the Lord.
And the message, which is one that ALL Christians need to be portraying to nonbelievers (instead of condemning, because that's not our job), is that we are ALL redeemable in the eyes of God. We have only to repent and ask. These characters, and any real life people that go through the same thing, are wonderful role models because they show us, Christians, not as robotic and perfect people, but as real people who make mistakes but are still saved. And THAT is in the scriptures.
To my readers... Open hearts and open minds are far more real than those who think they've done nothing wrong. My only request is that you go into this story with that open mind and remember that life is not all hearts and flowers.
Praise for Forever Grateful
• "Alex and Mel's love story is honest, full of hope, but not without complication. I found myself genuinely caring about these characters and wanting to know more and more about their futures, which as any reader knows, is such a good feeling." — Amazon Reviewer
• "You can't help but to become part of the story, you will find yourself completely involved as if you were personally there. You will become emotionally involved and the tears will flow, and that's what I call a "gripper book"." — Amazon Reviewer
