Barbara Oliverioabout this book: Love on the Back Burner is a contemporary comedic romp that follows heroine Alexandria D'Agostino in her pursuit of love and career happiness while she experiments with her cooking abilities. The book features an engaging cast of characters including a rock-star-turned- priest brother, a no-nonsense Italian immigrant grandmother, and a crew of friends who are always up for a good meal. I wrote this book as a way to feature my family recipes that was more fun than writing a normal cookbook. I also saw an opportunity to create a role model for today's young women that was counter to today's pop culture.
Alexandria is a witty, interesting character with a good value system realistically living in today's modern world. It has been called "poignant, hilarious and down right engrossing" in one reviewer's words and another says you'll find " lots of fun, dollops of anguish, and a well thought out and executed plot." It's my hope that the reader has as much fun reading it as I did writing it.
