Teresa Roblinabout this book: I've always wished I had magical powers, but then again, who hasn't. So I did the next best thing and wrote a romantic comedy where I could live vicariously through my characters.
My goal with my first romance novel is to make my readers forget about their everyday, monotonous routines and take them on a journey that will have them laughing, crying and sighing.
In Hocus Pocus, Amanda is absolutely fed-up with her life, wants to change but doesn't have the courage to take the necessary steps. Instead she hides her lack of confidence behind a mousy, wallflower image and avoids confrontations.
Taking matters into her own hands, Amanda's wacky, absent-minded aunt casts an assertive spell. But the spell doesn't work out as planned. Candid is one thing; totally uncontrolled, mouth flapping is another.
Diligent, unassuming Amanda suits Mark just fine. He has the perfect life. At work his inconspicuous assistant keeps things in order and outside of the office he enjoys a very active sex life, but never involves his emotions. Once burned by a self-centered corporate climber, Mark never mixes business with pleasure.
Finally adapting to her new persona, Amanda no longer fights the words that come out of her mouth and is adjusting with her new body image.
Mark's problem is trying to figure out who the hell has invaded Amanda's body. Gone is the plain creature and in her place is someone with a wicked sense of humor. Now that he notices her, he can't stop staring. Which is a damn inconvenience because he's seriously reconsidering breaking his vow to never mix business with pleasure.
Who would have thought that a little bit of Hocus Pocus could cause so much trouble.
