BUTTERFLY BOOKSabout this book: There are times when bad weather disrupts commercial flights, sometimes locally, but often over wide areas, like the Atlantic or the Pacific. Many people have found their flights disrupted, especially when connecting flights are just not in the right place at right time!
In this story Charles, or Charlie as he prefers to be known, has already been delayed on his flight from Vancouver, and eventually when he arrives in Taipei his connecting flight is nowhere to be seen.
His co-passenger on the flight is Sue-ling trying to return to her parents in Taiwan after completing her degree in botany in Vancouver.
As they disembark Sue-ling sees a small toy wooden farmer, which she buys as a memento for Charlie, and strangely that is the start of their relationship.
After long hours travelling Charlie is feeling dirty and scruffy but he doesn't have a Visa for Taiwan, and the airport facilities are limited, so he decides to stay in the Airport hotel, where he hopes to get a hot shower, at least.
