Susanne Bellamyabout this book: Graham Peyton lives a life of solitude on the ridge above Lark Creek (the ultimate self isolationist!). Janice Lehman, the schoolteacher whose assistance he sought, all but faints in his arms and his act of compassion in looking after the divorcee leads them into danger ... and begins healing this damaged ex-soldier.
All titles in this series reflect the importance of 'home' to the characters. Graham struggles with the threat to his home when he discovers a set of surveyor's markers cutting off access to his permanent campsite. This, along with a recently discovered need for limited companionship, encourages him to connect more closely with Janice.
People with PTSD, and those suffering from claustrophobia, both of which Graham suffers from, struggle every day of their lives. I wanted to explore how a man, an ex-soldier such as Graham, might find a way forward. Our past experiences shape who we are, but do not define who we choose to be, nor how we live our lives.
