Mathew Hortonabout this book: Warning - These works of filth and degradation might offend! Whore Town is a collection of poems, limericks and rhyming stories from special effects designer John Horton and his son, the author Mathew Horton. These works have been amassed from the best of 10 years worth of writing. After his catastrophic divorce and close to suicide, of being completely deflated, John travelled to India and had a second chance of life through writing. With a renewed wind in his sails thanks to the tropical splendour of Palolem beach in Goa, John penned a collection of rude, sometimes disgusting and most definitely un-PC verses.
Mathew Horton has had his own demons to battle and writing poetry again has helped. Alcohol, rejection, bullying, a fatal accident- all these things moulded the words on display. The pain and humour of a tortured soul show in these poems. It is not for those easily offended. But it is for those with a sense of humour.
