Author Chris Korbel and Katrin Kernabout this book: The Winter Holidays, starting from Thanksgiving, onto the religious observances, then concluding with New Years, is a special time. We take a break from our normal lives, feeling and expressing a sense of the occasion. We find ourselves celebrating these festivities with many different important people in our life, co-workers and supervisors, friends and family, significant others (and those who we are trying to woo into that position.) Wouldn't it be great to be able to seize the moment by expressing gratitude, good hope and love? We believe given the opportunity most people would offer eloquent as well as amusing toasts if only they possessed the necessary knowledge and confidence. We wrote this book because we both know how challenging toast making can be.

We founded our company Make A Toast in 2007, to help aspiring tribute givers compose as well as present ceremonial toasts and special occasion speeches. We normally work with clients who need to give honor attendant toasts at weddings, or milestone occasions like a 75th Birthday or a 40th anniversary. Over the years we have expanded our range. Last year we wrote a book addressing how to offer a Winter Holiday Toast. The book is a comprehensive offering of do's and don'ts, guiding principles and two different formulas for creating and presenting toasts. We use these same methods ourselves when we attend winter holiday events. Whenever people compliment us for our toasts, we like to demystify the process by explaining how we did it. We would make terrible magicians. But this kind of personal public speaking is not magic, just technique. We hope our book brings all who read it a little extra holiday cheer.
