Jamie Taylor has a past filled with poor choices regarding men.
FBI Agent Nicholas Grant has a past of his own he doesn't know about, and a present addiction to pain killers that could leave him without a future.
(Having said that, don't expect much romance in this book.)
Oh yeah, it's also about a serial killer who's dump site is usurped by a madman with an agenda of his own.
Red Tide began with a very simple, incomplete news article I read several years ago. A man had died in prison. Among his effects was a photograph, not of a person as you might expect, but of a completely unidentified piece of countryside. My question was, why would a man keep a photograph of something that could be anywhere?
I'm a dog lover, and really wanted dogs to have some kind of role in my first published novel. I'd had the opportunity to participate with some detectives and a Human Remains Detection dog as they tracked down, literally, some leads on a cold case. A lot of research later, I had a wonderful way to incorporate some four-legged heroes into my story.
