Ian Lennonabout this book: The Addiction of Amanda is Mystery Family Saga following Amanda the addict, her homeless husband and son who struggle on the streets of South St. Louis and its cruel rules of survival. This fictional journey is based on real life experiences that addiction provides. The life of addicts, what it does, their inner experiences, horrors, and interactions, are all explored in this journey set in the not too far future. Is there closure, continued addiction, or death? Following their journey to find answers to questions we are afraid to ask compels us to ask more questions about ourselves, addiction, why, and what can be done about it. If you want to know the truth, then discover The Addiction of Amanda.
This book took several years to write and is a blend of fiction combined with personal experiences. The addict experience provided me with insight to relate to what addiction does to people, and how an addict perceives their world and surroundings, ignorant of the realities of how they affect others. The cover is interpreted as a look into the eyes of an addict. I wish that by providing a entertaining fictional story, that I can create awareness of the addiction plague surrounding us all, and the message that there can be happiness after addiction.
