Michael Bronteabout this book: Presidential Risk is part spoof, part political satire, and part adventure story.
Imagine a bunch of dead presidents in heaven with egos as big as the planets. They are playing a supernatural version of the board game Risk, which is a game of world domination. What if the moves they make are reflected in the real world of Earth? A president makes a move, an invasion takes place on Earth. This is the story behind Presidential Risk, and we follow the life of real world to-be hero Pauli Campo. His life is being dictated by the moves the presidents make, and he rises from meager upbringings to lead his country against a maniacal dictator to prevent the death of millions. It might seem impossible, but history is being determined before it actually happens. In the end, it's a story of leadership. The game the presidents are playing is called the unGame, and the struggle for world domination continues with each roll of the dice.
